Sydney Harbour, New South Wales

The Sydney Harbour was the location of the first European settlement in Australia. Its first recorded European discovery belongs to James Cook. The city itself lies on the southern shore. The Parramatta River forms the harbour's western arm.

Australia Zoo, Queensland

Australia Zoo was opened by Bob and Lyn Irwin on 3 June 1970 under the name Beerwah Reptile Park. Their son Steve, had helped his parents since childhood to care for crocodiles and reptiles and to maintain the growing number of animals in the zoo. In 1982 the park was renamed to the Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park and the area was doubled with the purchase of another 4 acres (1.6 ha).
Steve and Terri changed the name of their now growing wildlife park to Australia Zoo. As filming generated extra funds, Steve and Terri put all money raised from filming and merchandise into conservation and building new exhibits.

North Stradbroke Island, Queensland

N. Stradbroke Island is the second largest sand island in the world, with ongoing sand mining big business on the island for over 60 years.

Moreton Bay, Queensland

Moreton Bay is one of Queensland's most important coastal resources. The bay is the only place in Australia where Dugong (manatee) gather in heards.
The bay is described as lagoonal because of the existence of a series of off-shore barrier islands that restrict the flow of oceanic water. These islands are Moreton Island and the North and South Stradbroke Islands.

Tamborine Mountain, Queensland

- Tamborine Mountain was inhabited by Aborigines for tens of thousands of years and, at the time of early European settlement, lay in the territory of the Wangerriburras. The origin of the name Tamborine comes from the Anglicised version of the Aboriginal word 'Jambreen' from the Yugambeh language. The spelling also appears on early records as Tchambreem and even Goombireen, which means 'wild lime' and refers to the finger lime trees growing on the mountain.

Brisbane is named after the river on which it sits, which in turn was named after Scotsman Sir Thomas Brisbane, the Governor of New South Wales from 1821 to 1825. As the third most populous city in Australia it is the largest in Queensland.
